Step 4 Using your darker buttercream with the # 126K piping tip , start piping the rose centre with a small mound of buttercream , then 3-5 petals . Make sure you place the wide end of the tip against the cake with the narrower end upwards . Angel your tip inwards for the first couple of rows of petals . Start making rainbow like movementsthink up and over half circles like a rainbow .
Pro tip : practice first on a flat surface to get used to this tip . This particular curls the petal edges which can be a bit tricky at first
Step 5 Next pipe the next row of petals . Make sure you continuously overlap the petals . It doesn ’ t matter how many petals you have in each row . Continue around using the circle markers as a guide .
Step 6 As you continue around your rose , slightly change the angle of your piping tip to more upright and lengthen the petals .
