Remember to return items after you ’ re done using them
Well , from my perspective at Sunshine , it looks like January was not a good month for many of our locals ? We had a bit of a “ run ” on medical equipment for broken ankles ,
VEDDER hips , etc . That ice was not too forgiving .
Hopefully we were able to supply you with necessary items , although I ’ m sorry you had to wait a couple of days . CCC was locked down with no staff and no way to help anybody . As you can imagine , all of us were stuck at home too .

Food Drive
The Charbonneau food drive will be collecting donations on March 27 from 8:30 a . m . to 1 p . m . The items collected are donated to Wilsonville Community Sharing , and dispersed to those less fortunate , or those who are just experiencing some difficulty during these difficult times . The items that are in most need at this time are hearty soups , chili , and beef stew type items , Broths , canned vegetables ( no green beans ), rice , and toothbrushes . You may also make monetary donations if you ’ d like to Wilsonville Community Sharing .
French Conversation
Do you speak some French ? Has it been a while since you ’ ve spoken French ? You might want to join this group . It is a very relaxed and informal group that gets together to speak French conversation . All levels are welcome . The group gets together on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 130-230 p . m . Please contact Diane Wallace at wallacedm @ msn . com for more info and the current meeting place .
Ballroom dancing
Do you enjoy dancing ? Have you had an interest in learning to dance ? Here ’ s your answer . Mark Lowes Baker with Oregon Dance Sport offers free dance lessons to Charbonneau residents . All ages are welcome , from those with experience , to those with little to no experience . Classes are held in the Wilson Room in the Activity Center , on Thursdays , singles
We ’ re on our way to a glorious spring so let ’ s stay well enough to enjoy it ?
Just a reminder : Those of you that have had equipment for much too long , please , please return things ? I ’ ve spent much of January making phone calls and trying to retrieve our items , and frankly I ’ d rather spend my time doing happier things . I hate to sound like an old ‘ grump ,” but sometimes there is a shortage of certain items that have been borrowed , and that means we can ’ t help another resident in need . Some of our equipment is also very expensive and we can ’ t afford to lose track of things .
If you ’ re having trouble returning things , please call any of our volunteer teammates and we will help you . I realize that some of you don ’ t drive anymore so we are ready to assist ! If you ’ re interested in what we offer , call us and then drop by CCC to see our stockroom . There are items you ’ ve never heard about ( us too ) and you ’ d be amazed at the crazy inventions they ’ ve come up with !
Until next month , I hope the wounded warriors will heal , and the rest of you stay out of trouble ’ s way ? Better days are ahead .

The CCC Welcome Committee invites all new or ‘ newer ’ residents to Charbonneau to join us on Friday , March 29 from 10 a . m . to 11 a . m . in the Activity Center Hazelglade Room .
You will hear from Neil Kennedy , community safety coordinator , Nancy Browning , communications ( learn how to maneuver the CCC website , please bring your smart phone ), EPPS and Charbonneau Sunshine Service .
Come share how long you have lived in Charbonneau , where you moved from and how you chose Charbonneau . Tell us about yourselves and what you enjoy doing .
