We congratule our pro for winning national coach of the year award
It is a great honor to communicate the exciting news that Donna Roisom , Charbonneau ’ s pro and Sports Center manager , has been selected by the National Federation of High Schools , as National Coach of the Year for the 2022-23 school year ( last school year ) for tennis ! This award designates Donna as among the most elite coaches in the country ! She has also been awarded the state and sectional coach of the year for tennis . Donna was nominated by our state athletic / activities association to receive this award . Honorees were selected based upon their coaching performance in the 2022-23 school year , coaching history , community involvement , school involvement and coaching philosophy .
Donna moved to Charbonneau three years ago to retire . One thing for certain is … she has not ! In addition to all the time she has

put in over the years coaching high school tennis , on any given day she can also be found on the Charbonneau courts giving lessons to members age 3-93 . Not only does she
provide lessons and clinics for our tennis and pickleball members , she also wears the hat of Charbonneau Sports Center manager . This is a huge undertaking since the Sports
Center is growing leaps and bounds after the addition of pickleball . As manager , Donna is directly involved in the process of covering our two outdoor tennis courts , which will provide four indoor pickleball courts as an additional resident amenity , and an additional two tennis courts that will be shared 50 / 50 with pickleball . Once the building is complete , Donna will be running free pickleball clinics for residents who would like to give it a try before joining .
Permits for this structure have now been approved and construction of the building has finally started ! The court ’ s fencing will be coming down , and a construction fence has been built to enclose the contractor ’ s equipment and building materials . In fact , the steel has now been delivered ! During this process , we will temporarily lose a many parking spaces in front of the Sports Center . On some days parking is already at a premium , so we kindly ask our community members that park in this lot to allow a few extra minutes to scope out a parking spot , and , if you have a golf cart or other feasible options , you might want to consider it . The Charbonneau Sports Center Leadership Council will keep you updated as we go through the build process .
