Using a Loyal tip 6B and white buttercream , start piping a border on the top of your cake . The same up and down motion used for the base ( Step 1 ) works for the top of the cake . With this piping , I make sure the white shell meets the frilly piping so there are no gaps .

To add more texture , use Teal and Wilton 16 to start piping an S-Swirl ( same technique as step 9 ) in between the white shell border and the Sky Blue frilly piping around the top of the cake .
