Fluid Motion
Monroe
Using bolts of fiberglass and barrels of
resin, Fluid Motion in Monroe builds
Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats from the
ground up. The largest boat builder on the
West Coast, they manufacture and test all
their boats in Washington, then they ship
all over the world, including Japan, China
and Australia. They employ around 300
people and produce approximately 500
boats a year.
Jeff Messer, vice president of Fluid Motion, looks over the
factory floor of the company’s “Monroe Two” facility (its second
in Monroe). Among the company’s six facilities across the Puget
Sound region is its original plant in Kent, which it opened in
1958.
John Livingston,
president of Fluid
Motion, signs the
Manufacturing
Week bus.
