PART 2 • Using game analysis features
There ' s an additional button at the bottom of the“ Annotations” panel which should be used only with great caution:
• The“ Erase all annotations” button will erase every annotation( verbal and visual) in the entire game at one time. Be very careful not to click this button unless you actually do wish to remove all of a game ' s annotations!
There ' s a second annotation panel in Chess King which is a hidden feature. After you highlight a move for which you want to add commentary, hit CTRL-A on your keyboard to display a floating dialogue containing other annotation features:
• The upper part of the display contains three rows of buttons which allow you to add symbolic chess commentary, a kind of commentary“ shorthand” which over the last half-century has become the universal“ language” of chess. Because the commentary is symbolic rather than verbal, it allows chessplayers who speak different languages to communicate chess analysis and ideas through symbols. If you hover your mouse cursor over one of these symbols, you ' ll get a floating box which interprets what the symbol means( and therefore we won ' t explain all of the symbols in this book).
