Cynthia Lockhart’s fiber
art is infused with a
kaleidoscope of diverse
influences that include
fashion, music, travel
and African arts. Her
quilts are distinguished
by their pulsating
colors and irregular,
organic shapes. An
award-winning artist,
Lockhart’s work has
been reviewed in The
New York Times and
is held in private and
corporate collections
throughout the United
States. Lockhart teaches
fashion students in the University of Cincinnati’s College of
Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Lockhart’s work will
be on exhibit in Gallery G on the upper level of the Jo Young
Switzer Center from Dec. 4, 2015, through March 18, 2016.

The works of Judy Wenig-Horswell will be on
display in Gallery G beginning April 4. “This
exhibit will focus on recent work but will include
work completed since my retirement from
teaching art at Goshen College,” says WenigHorswell. Titled “Exploration & Evolution,” her
exhibit features the cast bronze “Nursery of
Pizotes,” created in 2015 and pictured here.
“I hope to reveal both the exploration and
the evolution of ideas and media during this
time,” says Wenig-Horswell. Featured works will
include paintings, jewelry, metal work and clay
sculptures. Wenig-Horswell taught at Goshen
College from 1973 to 2009.
“Connecting Cultures,” a photographic collection
of Thelma S. Rohrer ’84, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, will move to Gallery
101 at the Fort Wayne campus later this month.
