1975. The strong driving force of American Pop Art
induces Maimeri to add acrylic paints to the
catalogue. During the same years exports begin.
1980. The original trademark appears inadequate
for the times and the graphic design tastes
of the era. Leone chooses an avant-garde graphic
designer to take on the tricky task of restyling.
The overall indications however are cast in iron:
the concept of the tetrahedron conceived
by the founder must not be abandoned.
1982 Gianni, Leone’s son, named after
the company’s founder, takes his first steps
in the world of business.
1997 Thanks to Gianni, the Maimeri Foundation
is established with Gianni in the role of Chairman.
The artistic production left by his grandfather
is immense and must find its just recognition
in the world. The Foundation sets out to diffuse,
through exhibitions, conventions, events and
editorial initiatives, the artistic works of Gianni
Maimeri. At the same time it undertakes
to promote the culture of art by providing
support for young talent. “The Foundation,
says the President Gianni Maimeri, intends
to become a privileged partner for artists,
developing a policy to diffuse, even in non-
specialized areas, Italian creative aesthetics
through innovative instruments”. From this
moment onwards, the Maimeri Foundation
and Maimeri S.p.A. join forces to actively spread
the culture of art. The share capital of Maimeri
S.p.A increases to 1.600.000.000 Lire and Gianni
Maimeri becomes its General Manager.
