4 Principles of Buddhism to
Improve Our Communication.
“Don’t Wait For Your Turn to Speak: Learn to Really Listen
and You’ll Be Different.”.
1 Truthfulness
Truthfulness is nothing more or
less than always speaking with
the truth. Being an always
honest person is very valuable
because people trust you and
you always attract genuine
people.
But to be honest with others,
you must first be honest with
yourself. And it is logical to
treat others as you treat
yourself.
For people who practice Buddhism, communication is very important.
They believe that both the things that are said and the silences that are
kept depend on the harmony of the relationships we have.
But for Buddhists, communication is not only between people, but also
with ourselves. Honestly, I find this point very interesting; being able to
have good communication with ourselves allows us to know ourselves
better and know what we like and what we don’t. This is very favorable
since you will learn about your limits, your abilities, what you are or are
not able to tolerate, etc.
With all this in mind, Buddhists claim that the four principles of
communication seek clarity and respect in human relationships. Talking
refers to the expression of ideas, emotions and feelings, and when done
with those two parameters in mind you achieve a better understanding
and quality in relationships.
