7 Ways to
Worship God
The word worship comes from two
old English words, the first being
"weorth" meaning worth and the sec-
ond being "scipe" meaning shape or
quality. So, we can see that this word
means the quality of having worth.
Therefore, when we worship, we are
basically saying that God is worthy.
Worship is setting our hearts affec-
tion and our mind's attention on God.
We can also show authentic worship to
our Creator through genuine prayer. Think
about your prayer life and ask yourself
how much is about me and how much is
about God? When Jesus taught us to pray,
specifically in the Lord's prayer, He started
off by saying "Our Father who is in Heaven,
May Your name be honored." (Matthew
6:9) Prayer all starts with God and on who
God is. We are called to grow closer in our
relationship with God, so God wants us to
share everything with him. However, with-
in that, he also wants us to get to know
Him better. So, in your prayer time, truly
focus on who God is.

5 Give Back to God
If you want to know what in your life you wor-
ship, look at your checkbook register. The Bi-
ble teaches us this important lesson: "For
where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also." (Mathew 6:21 NIV)
6 Serve Others
Jesus tells us that "when you did it to the least
of these my brothers and sisters, you did to
me!" (Matt. 25:40 NLT) When we serve one an-
other, Jesus tells us we are really serving Him.
If you don't think you have any gifts that are
useful to serve, you are wrong. God made you
with talents and gifts that He specifically gave
you to serve others.
Music is a gift of God to give people a
means of expressing their emotions. That’s
the broad part of music: their joys, their
sorrows, their hopes, their aspirations, their
disappointments. But for believers, it is a
gift of God to allow believers to give expres-
sion of gratitude to God for who He is, what
He’s done, and particularly for our salva-
tion. The redeemed sing. Music reaches its
highest level among Christians, its greatest
usage among Christians. The music of the
church is just that: it’s the song of the re-
deemed.

3 Read the Bible
The Bible says that we worship God in "spirit and
in truth." How can we ever worship God without
a clear understanding of who He is? The truth
about God is essential to worship. Pay special
attention to the book of Psalms. No book in the
Bible spends as much time carefully describing
who God is.
4 Obey
We all need to build the habit of obedience into
our lives. Whenever you sense God is speaking
to you, make it a regular practice to respond im-
mediately. Don't let procrastination weigh you
down. If you can't do it immediately, write down
whatever God has been putting on your heart,
so that you can do it SOON!
