30 performance. Their play, The Capes We Leave Behind, told the story of four friends who reimagine themselves as superheroes while grappling with personal challenges. It was a poignant tale that resonated with audiences and even moved some to tears.
Behind the powerful performance lay months of effort. From learning lines and refining stage movements, to creating complex props like a dragon’ s head, every member contributed with heart. There were obstacles; students juggling third languages, newcomers adjusting to demanding roles but the team persevered. With every rehearsal, they built not only a performance, but a deep sense of fraternity.
SYF cast and crew with instructors and teacher
Across each story, a clear thread emerges: SYF was never just about the stage. It was about overcoming fear, building trust, embracing vulnerability, and growing in confidence and skill. Our students trained not just to perform, but to connect: with one another, with their mentors, and with the wider arts community.
We applaud every Josephian who poured heart and soul into the journey. Behind every performance is a student who dared to dream … and a Josephian team that made that dream possible.
