A “ FROGSLEAP ” INTO VIETNAM !
The Global Education Programme ( GEP ) trip to Binh Phuoc , Vietnam was an exploration of a new culture and served as a meaningful engagement in various service activities aimed at making a positive impact on the local community . A group of 36 students from Year 5 together with four teachers led by Mr Albert Tan literally “ frogleaped ” into action ( bad pun intended )!
Collaborating with Frogsleap Foundation in Vietnam , Josephians installed solar panels for residents of the Minh Tam commune in the Hon Quan district . The solar panels aimed to provide a self-sustaining solution for the local community that struggles with poor access to electricity . Through this activity , Josephians had the opportunity to interact with the local residents to learn about their way of life and gain a deeper understanding of their struggles . Additionally , Josephians donated Singaporean snacks , English books and stationery to the local Minh Tam Secondary School , to not only share a taste of Singapore with local students but also provide them with necessities that will aid them on their education journey .
Throughout the trip , Josephians were grouped with students from Frogsleap Foundation , allowing them to gain insight into Vietnamese culture and everyday life . One of the highlights of the trip was the cultural exchange between Josephians and the Vietnamese students of the local commune and Frogsleap Foundation . For two nights , Josephians had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in rich Vietnamese traditions ,
