while simultaneously sharing aspects of their own Singaporean culture . Through sharing traditional songs , dances , and delicacies , this cross-cultural interaction broke down cultural barriers and built bridges of friendship .
Our students also had the opportunity to experience life in Ho Chi Minh City . This bustling city provided a stark contrast to the rural environment of Binh Phuoc , offering a comprehensive view of Vietnam ’ s diverse landscapes and lifestyles . In Ho Chi Minh City , Josephians immersed themselves in the city ’ s rich history by trying their hand at bargaining in Ben Thanh Market , embarking on a city tour on a roofless bus and visiting The Central Post Office . Visiting iconic landmarks allowed Josephians to connect with history , culture , architecture and various disciplines in a tangible way .
The GEP trip to Binh Phuoc , Vietnam , served as a catalyst for personal and collective growth among participating Josephians . Beyond the concrete outcomes of the service projects , the trip cultivated a sense of global awareness in the Josephians as they grew to become men and women for others .

“ I was incredibly inspired by the heart of the Frogsleap volunteers , who willingly travel to these homes to work together to improve living conditions . Interacting with them enlightened me about the true purpose and impact of volunteerism .”
Kimberly Poh ( FN602 )
“ Partnering with Frogsleap to fix solar panels and lights in homes allowed us to empathise with people and better understand their living conditions , helping us realise how fortunate we are in Singapore . This opportunity also helped us understand more about Vietnamese culture such as their dance , music and even traditional sewing techniques . This was definitely an experience that I will never forget !”
