Beurel - Place forBook Lovers

Book lovers have had a great year at The Beurel in 2018 . The collections were re-organised to make books more accessible to Library users , and many new fiction and non-fiction books as well as magazines were added to encourage reading across the disciplines and year levels . Many of the new books simply flew off the display shelves the very day they were put out . Mrs Boey Wah Fong , our Teacher-Library shares her exciting plans for the Beurel in this story .

Year 1 students were introduced to the Library in January via activities during Library Orientation . This was designed for students to familiarise themselves with the various collections and learn how to find and extract information from them . Since then , many of them have dropped in regularly at recess and after school , not only to browse and borrow books , but also to play popular board games with their friends . Students from other levels have also been using the Library in larger numbers than ever before , which makes the Library a very lively place to be !

Several exciting events , collaborations between the English Department and the Library , took place in the Library this year . The Singa-Lit Festival – a week-long celebration of local literature - took place in Term 2 . We had several Author Visits , an ASEAN food tasting session
