“... that their lives and the examples of service that they embody will inspire students and alumni to lead lives consistent with the Lasallian core values of faith as the foundation , service as a way of life , while being part of a community that is supportive and nurturing .
“
“ It is apt that this book is titled For Others . The selection committee has endeavoured not only to select distinguished alumni from different spheres , but also Josephians who embody the spirit of what it means to live a life “ for others ”. Each of the men , and the ladies from the very brief time when SJI admitted girls to its preuniversity classes , embody this trait of service to society and other people . The committee hopes that their lives and the examples of service that they embody will inspire students and alumni to lead lives consistent with the Lasallian core values of faith as the foundation , service as a way of life , while being part of a community that is supportive and nurturing .”
Malcolm @ 30 was an opportunity for the guests to interact with our student leaders who led them on a tour of the upgraded campus . The students showcased their talents through various musical performances during the cosy event held
in the school library , The Beurel . Donors were gifted with tokens of appreciation presented by Brother President , Paul Ho . SJI Chairman Mr Lee Kok Fatt also presented copies of ‘ For Others ’ to the alumni interviewees who were at the event . The night concluded with engaging conversations and exchange of stories amongst guests and students at the reception .
