Still Unwritten
The SJI Musical 2016

8 months , 3 weeks and 3 days . That was how long it took to put up SJI Senior School ’ s original musical : Still Unwritten . It was on 11 March 2016 that the doors of the school were open to the public , and people streamed into the auditorium , filling all the seats of the auditorium for both the matinee and gala shows .
The story follows Scarlett , a headstrong girl who has only one dream : to be on Broadway . In order to achieve her dream , she puts up a musical , drawing in three other students : Kaitlyn - an over-achiever who was dumped by her long-distance boyfriend , her twin brother , Caleb - who thinks he ’ s far too ordinary compared to his sister , and Liam - a troubled boy whose parents are constantly arguing . Scarlett , in her fixation on the musical , fails to notice how the problems of her fellow musical members had worsened , which led to problems not being addressed until they got out of hand . The characters had a constant tussle about ‘ who has the bigger problem ’. Scarlett blamed this on Astrid - her archenemy - before she comes to a realisation that the potential failure of her musical is her own fault . After some major damage control , and amidst the apologies and selfreflection , there was a glimmer of hope . Hope that friendship might bloom , that life will be brighter . The finale conveyed the idea that even though life
