A greater amount of information and experience exchanged with research centres, national and international organisms, and a more intense collaboration with universities and professors – AIDI is proud to have, among its members, professors that are renowned on a national and international scale. Attention and a renewed dialogue with the world of lighting designers, who have a relevant role in the sector and with Made in Italy products, training and the young generation. Actions and aims that we think will stem from constant comparing and sharing activities in this Association, which is proud of its history and is aware of its role and activities around the world in the Italian Lighting System, on an international but mainly on a European scale, and on a national economic, social and cultural level. The Editorial staff and the Director of LUCE wish the new AIDI President, Gian Paolo Roscio, every success in his work. We wish Margherita Suss, the Association’ s President for the past three-year period, goodbye and we would like to thank her for the work carried out also as the editor of LUCE, the magazine founded by AIDI, only three years after AIDI was established in Milan in 1959. The magazines Domus and Casabella( 1928) were born three decades before, Interni in 1954 and Abitare in 1961, followed by LUCE in 1962, Lotus in 1965 and Ottagono the following year: all magazines that have all left a sign in the cultural life of Italy, and not only Italy.
