Meet
for example, is softened by the ’50s
silhouette. ERRE garments can flatter
any figure. Much emphasis is placed
on the feminine waistline, but also on
features which flatter the face, such
as neckline and shoulders. After all,
in business meetings, these are the
features noticed and admired by the
onlooker.
Carina and Natasha are passionate
about training more young people
locally to revive the clothing
manufacture industry. They are both
still lecturing part-time, and the
ERRE studio also offers internships to
students from universities and other
design schools.
ERRE designs are available from size
32 to 48. From size 40, the collection is
called the Curve Collection.
Natasha and Carina are constantly
extending their collection, allowing
anything in the world around them to
spark a new design. Interesting braids
in local African hairstyles have inspired
beautiful collars on garments. The
traditional scarification some cultural
groups have on their skins, gave rise to
exclusively textured leather jackets.
The ERRE designers have already
put feelers out towards the inter
national fashion industry and
especially America and Italy. They are
also taking a look at exclusive South
African boutiques as outlets for their
wear.
Above all, they are determined to
remain absolutely exclusive.
Where to buy?
The ERRE collection is available
from the ERRE on-line store, and also
from the web-store of Spree.
An open day which offers the
opportunity to try on garments you
like and buy directly from the studio,
while also enjoying a glass of bubbly
and meeting the designers in person,
is held once a month at the studio.
Future dates are: 1 April, 6 May and
3 June.
If you want something unique, you
are most welcome to visit the studio
by appointment any week-day to
order a garment custom-made to your
own specifications.
Great news is that ERRE will
show a Resort Collection at the SA
Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016
event at Hyde Park Corner from 6 to
10 April 2016. Keep a look-out on the
Fashion Week website:

The studio employs three permanent
seamstresses at present. Margaret
Nomvula Nkosi, the head seamstress,
previously made a living as domestic
worker. She decided to take a course in
sewing, and when she saw ERRE’s advert
in Marabastad for seamstresses, she
applied immediately. She has not looked
back.
The ERRE team (from l. to r.): Margaret
Nomvula Nkosi, Natasha Jaume, Leandré
Naidu, Tanya Repsold and Carina Louw.
