NON-TAKEN BASKETS MANAGEMENT At the end of distribution, non-taken baskets are given to a charity.
GROUP: MANAGEMENT
The organisation of a group depends on the strong availability and involvement of its members wishing to take charge of a part of the CSA working. Apart from board duties( president, secretary, treasurer) that might be enough to make a CSA work, it would be wise to integrate as much as possible volunteers into the group. This can be organized in two groups, one for the delivery and the other for activities, both with a manager and“ assistants”. Distribution is the heart of CSAs’ activity, and therefore, a person available for distribution or a few people taking over the committee room is needed.
The hive saying yes( Food Assembly)
Consumers order food delivered by producers every week, at the same place. A Food Assembly is an association of neighbours, friends, and neighbours’ friends uniting to buy directly products from the producers in their region. The Food Assembly offers tools to propose products in Food Assemblies in your region, true distribution points to enhance your direct sales production. Every Food Assembly has a manager, in charge of distribution. The manager chooses the offers from suppliers and proposes it to members. He makes a place available to the distribution. He is responsible for the good organization of distributions and of the development of the activity in the community.
There is no membership fee / registration fee to participate to the Food Assembly. Nevertheless, every Food Assembly manager, in charge of organization and D-day orders delivery gets a 10 % commission on the achieved turnover excluding VAT, while the Food Assembly gets the same percentage. Organic food producers are left with 80 % sales, deciding on prices.
