REGISTRATION
Every new member fills out a form that includes the membership form for the association with a subscription cheque; the duplicate contract with the farmer, one for the member and one for the farmer; the signed rules and regulations, kept by the association; the CSA’ s charter; and cheques for the farmer.
PAYMENT
The basket price is prepared, and then voted in the General Assembly by all its members. The number of baskets x the price of the basket gives a total amount for the entire time of the contract( normally a year). It is possible to pay in 1 to 12 instalments( by cheque).
BASKET COMPOSITION AND HALF BASKET
Every week, the farmer proposes the basket contents. To arrange the half-basket( if the price is half of the basket), a participatory method consists in consulting a half-basket member at random to potentially modify its content, knowing that it is possible to propose half of an aubergine or half of a cucumber. The farmer will give its“ preferences” according to the maturity stage of allowed vegetables.
COMMITTEE ROOM SCHEDULE
We ask CSA members to subscribe to participate in preparations and deliveries. These two operations are divided to be compatible with the not-so-easy CSA members’ availability because of their tight schedule.
PREPARATION-DISTRIBUTION
The distribution team is in charge of unloading vegetables from the truck and arranging them in a distribution site. Consumers come when they get back the equivalent of the basket.
