Blue : Loyalty, Trust
One e-mail and there she was, back into the lanes of nostalgia, at their favorite coffee shop, holding his favorite coffee. Every drop of his favorite coffee tasted like him. All those laughs, giggles, kisses, hugs, ran through her eyes in a blink; Exactly after 7 years, she was there again, at their favorite spot. Her heart was pounding and racing, her hands were sweating, her eyes were almost moist. Just then he enters. Same charm, better looks and a rich appearance. Her heart still skipped a beat even after all these years. He sat across her, on the table and they exchanged some silent conversation. “Come back to me”, he fired his words. “I have everything you could ever desire for; all the luxuries, all the facilities in the world. We can live a dreamy life together. I can offer you, what your mediocre husband can’t even dream of.”
Indigo : Devotion, Wisdom, Justice
“A lot can happen over a cup of coffee”, they said. But a spilt cup of tea said a lot about their broken relationship. That night she decided to put an end to all the turmoil. She wanted to bring an end to all those nights, where he would come home drunk and imprint his hands on her body, on her soul. Once a highly educated, independent woman, was now just a body to vent out the frustration his uneducated but rich husband faced. She kept mum all these years because that was the key to a successful marriage, as per everyone.
“That body in glass coffin,
As she sat in one corner of that golden cage which suffocated her soul, crying and pampering her bruises, she heard some footsteps. She looked up to find her Mother-in-law standing there holding a piece of paper. She handed it to her and said : “A woman’s devotion should be first towards her own self before anyone else. And if your soul is injured you are as good as dead. Let this piece of paper try to serve justice to you.” That night she saw a sense of wisdom in those eyes. Her mother-in-law’s words made her realize that a bond between two women is above all relationships. She signed those divorce papers and flew away into the sky.
She stares at him. He hadn’t changed a bit. He was still the same – ambitious, achiever and charmer. She smiled and placed the cup on the table. “You will always occupy a small room in my heart.” now she fired her words. “I could never love my husband the way I loved you but I fell in love with his loyalty. I fell in love with the trust he has for our relationship and the way he accepted that you will always be my first love. I rather prefer going back to him and sharing a cup of tea with him rather than living a dream with you. I choose a home of reality over a castle of dreams. My Loyalty towards him will always be above my love for you.” She walks away with a beaming smile and rushes to meet her husband over a cup of tea.
