Then she drove off and left Elijah. He had the biggest smile ever and unbeknownst to him so did she. He waited patiently and called her later in the day and planned a nice date at the park. They’ d meet on Saturday three days from then. Elijah was filled with energy. He was so excited. All he could do was think about Lydia the sound of her voice and the smell of her hair when he’ d hug her goodbye. Elijah was in love. That night Elijah showered. The next day he went out to the barber and got his hair and beard cut after years of neglecting it. He went out and bought nice clothes to impress Lydia. By Saturday Elijah was a new man. He was reborn. He went out and bought flowers for Lydia before she got to his house at 2:00. He got back just in time. Lydia was barely pulling up in front of his apartment complex. She hadn’ t seen him yet. He wanted to surprise her. He held the flowers behind his back and knocked on her car window. She lowered it and he peaked his head in.“ SURPRISE!”
Lydia jumped and was confused at first. She didn’ t recognize Elijah at first but when she took a good look at him realized it was Elijah. She looked at him cheerfully and said
