They both greeted each other and Elijah got into her car. They drove to the
outskirts of the city to a place Elijah had never been to. The diner was exactly like
one Elijah had seen on the food network once. It was small and empty. Exactly
what Elijah liked. They took a seat and were given menus by a young waitress that
appeared to be in her early twenties.
“So Elijah what are you going to order? I normally get the French toast with a
sausage and scrambled eggs. Its my favorite.”
“ Mmm I think I’ll be having what you order. That sounds good.”
The waitress came and Lydia ordered for both of them. Lydia began talking to
Elijah about her life. Elijah found out that she worked as a substitute teacher for
elementary schools. As she talked Elijah listened attentively. He finally had gotten
a good look at her. Her eyes were brown and beautiful but they looked sad he
wasn’t sure why. Her smile was beautiful. It looked like she radiated light. Her
voice was strong powerful but it was soft and caring at the same time. Her eyes
were brown and beautiful. Elijah was entranced. The minutes quickly turned to
hours. Before either of them knew it 4 hours had gone by. Lydia and Elijah were
having a great time suddenly Lydia’s phone alarm went off.
Lydia looked at her phone and then back at Elijah with a shocked face.
