THE LION'S ROAR
5
The greatest milestone of all is the official graduation of our seniors! The Class of 2023 was warmly celebrated as they transitioned from Cornerstone students to Cornerstone Alumni! Our Class of 2023 valedictorian Maddison Chen shared an inspiring message encouraging her classmates to trust God with their futures. Salutatorian,Addison Breton shared about the lessons God has taught her and her classmates. Mrs. Linda Thiel, the Class of 2023 Advisor, shared a personal message encouraging our students to take the gifts they were freely given, and to freely share them with others. This year’s keynote speaker, Rev. John Marshall, encouraged the students to cultivate the seeds of Truth that have been planted in their hearts over their past 13 years of schooling.
At Cornerstone our commencement ceremony is truly special. One of the blessings of being a smaller school is that we truly get to know the students, and the students really get to know each other. In many ways we become a family. This personal connection is enhanced when students attend Cornerstone for several years. As a Preschool to Grade 12 school, we have the privilege of watching some of our students grow throughout their entire schooling journey. This year we celebrated three Alpha and Omega Graduates who attended Cornerstone from Grade 1 (or earlier) through their senior year: Maddison Chen, Jayden Knowland, and Jacob Williams.
What an honor it is for these parents to have entrusted Cornerstone and partnered with us for so many years.
We are especially blessed by those parents who themselves are alumni of Cornerstone and return as parents, sending the next generation of Lions to CCS. This year we celebrated Cornerstone Legacy Graduate Jacob Williams, son of Suzy (Dagon) Williams (‘98) and Brad Williams (‘98).
