_____ Is your K-12 student ready for the CCS dress code? There are no changes to last year’s dress code;
however, please note that only SOLID colors of gray are permitted as dress code sweaters, crewneck
sweatshirts, fleece, and hoodies. (Some students wore grays that were blended with white or black,
which is not a part of the stated dress code.) For returning students, please familiarize yourself with the
CCS dress code.
CCS Communication
Effective communication is of utmost importance to the CCS mission.
For this reason, we are committed to using the following tools for their
respective purposes. Communication, however, is only as effective as
both parties enable it to be effective. Please be sure to stay connected
in the following ways.
The Lion’s Roar
The Lion’s Roar is our monthly e-newsletter, which is published electronically during the first week of each
month (September through June) once school begins. It highlights the exciting things happening in our
classrooms and the achievements of our student body. The e-newsletter is emailed to CCS families and
friends. It can also be viewed on the school’s app.
The Cornerstone App
CCS has its own mobile app that can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
Just search for “The Cornerstone Christian School.” This is the most all-inclusive way for CCS families to stay in
touch with the school. It contains access to the most current version of the school calendar, important links
used throughout the school year, and several news feeds associated with various school activities.
The push notification feature allows you to choose the types of reminders you would like to receive, such as
reminders about early dismissals, theme days, emergency notifications, and upcoming due dates.
General announcements, stories, reminders, and updates will also appear under the News section of the
app, which will provide greater details than our weekly emails. All parents are encouraged to use the
settings feature to subscribe to the appropriate news feeds, such as High School Guidance for Grades 9-12,
PTFA, and Athletics.
Finally, the app also features frequently-used links to documents such as the Lion’s Roar, textbooks, supply
lists and handbooks that can be viewed and downloaded. You can also access Sycamore, Smart Tuition,
the P.E. Uniform Store, and more through the school app.
Sycamore Education
Cornerstone uses Sycamore Education as a critical portal for communication
between parents and teachers, which becomes especially important for parents
of students in Grades 6-12. All CCS parents (of students in Pre-K through Grade 12)
and students (in Grades 3 and up) have their own unique usernames and passwords to access Sycamore
School. Upcoming assignments, grades, test dates, classroom handouts, etc. are made available through
this portal. Additionally, discipline notifications are sent through Sycamore’s Pass-A-Note (PAN) feature.
Parents are encouraged to program their PANs to be forwarded via text or email so that they do not miss
these notes and notifications. Please contact the office if you need help accessing your Sycamore
account.
School Messenger
School Messenger is our emergency notification system, funded by the PTFA, which allows the school to
make school-wide phone calls regarding school cancellations, weather-related late openings, and other
types of urgent communication. It will soon be time to annually update your preferences to receive
notifications through School Messenger, which can be accessed through the CCS app.
