Social Media
Cornerstone maintains a social media presence on Facebook and Instagram. The purpose of these
accounts is to build a sense of community amongst our current families and within the greater community.
Updates and reminders that are published on the school app will often also be published to Facebook.
Additionally, the PTFA also maintains a Facebook Group page that allows parents to communicate with one
another as they organize upcoming PTFA events.
Email Communication
It is our expectation that all parents will provide the school with an accurate email address for an account
that will be checked regularly. CCS will typically send one school-wide email each Monday to provide
basic reminders and updates that generally pertain to the full school community. Each teacher and office
staff member has an email address that uses the following pattern: first initial and last name@contactccs.org
(i.e. tsnyder@contactccs.org.). The main office email address is office@contactccs.org.
External Website
Cornerstone also maintains an external website at www.thecornerstonechristianschool.com, which is
primarily designed for those families who are not yet a part of the school community.
2019-2020 Athletics Program
Students entering Grades 8-12 are eligible to try out for participation in our varsity
soccer and basketball programs. Participation requires a completed health form
and the respective pay-to-play fee ($250) per sport.
The registration and pay-to-play forms (download by clicking on the link) are
also accessible through the CCS app. Please call the school office if you need help accessing these forms.
Students may not participate in ANY practices until they have submitted their up-to-date health form
designed for participation in our sports program.
Varsity Soccer
The first soccer practice will be held at the Charter Oak Field on Monday, August 12, from 9:00 AM until
noon. Practices will continue in the same manner on weekdays through Wednesday, 8/21. Please be sure to
submit your health form so that we will know to notify you of the soccer practice schedule after 8/21, as soon
as it becomes available. All soccer players and their parents (at least one parent per athlete) must attend
an annual, mandatory concussion prevention training. This date has not yet been determined and will be
announced at a later date.
Dress Code Policy (K-12)
Please be sure that you are familiar with our dress code policy for students in Kindergarten through Grade
12. For your convenience, we have included below a brief summary of the school’s dress code
components. The detailed dress code policy is available on the CCS app.
To assist you in preparing for some of the typical challenges we face each year, please check that last
year’s clothing fits properly. Please note that all colors must be SOLID and should not be variegated
(blending two colors, such as gray and white). Typical areas of caution are as follows: clothing should not
be too tight, and girls’ skirts must always reach to the crease of the back of the knee (meaning the front of
the skirt will typically fall below the knee).
If you would like to request clothing from our “Used Uniform” program, please download from Sycamore the
Used Uniform Request Form found on the front page or contact the school office for the form and submit it
to the office.
