Lion's Roar April 2022 | Page 3

Each year (excluding 2020 and 2021), McLain students and faculty are invited to participate in an event called the Pi Off. While one of the motivators of hosting this event this year was to have something to look forward to in the longest school month of the year, we always try to focus on demonstrating how incredible God is in the way He designed Creation so mathematically. God’s giftings amongst our student body is also easily recognized during this “time to shine.”

This year’s Pi Off was filled with incredible talent,

giving the judges quite the challenge in determining

winners in each category (listed below). Emcee seniors Syd and Norah did an absolutely fantastic job of informing and entertaining us throughout the entire event.

The trophy for most digits of pi recited from memory went to Jayden Knowland (Grade 11). He correctly recited 27 digits while the eyes of the entire McLain student body and faculty were on him. Way to go, Jayden!

tasks or chores at home, it is often

easy to overlook discipling our own children. Josh Griffin, High School Pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA, shares a few ways he

and his wife try to actively disciple

their children in the midst of a

busy schedule.
