career in the beef cattle industry
and with the Limousin breed.
She recently completed her
associate’s degree in Agriculture
at Northeast Oklahoma A&M
College (NEO) in Miami, Okla.,
where she also successfully
competed on the livestock
judging team. She was named
a 2019 All American Livestock
Judge, which is based on
both academic and judging
performance and is awarded
to just 15 junior college
students across the nation.
This fall, she will study at Texas
Tech University in Lubbock, Tex.,
where she will study agricultural
business and compete on the
livestock judging team. She
will graduate in 2021 and is
considering law school.
“I would love to practice law
and focus on agricultural policy,”
said Montagne. “I also plan to
continue to grow my Limousin
herd and will show at the majors
(American Royal, NAILE, NWSS)
even after my junior career is
over. Developing my Limousin
herd as a junior has given me
a big jump start on life.” LT
