Sculpture by the Lakes

Tucked in a quiet corner of Dorchester is a hidden gem: Sculpture by the Lakes, a 26-acre sculpture park owned by contemporary sculptor, Simon Gudgeon, and his wife, Monique.
This popular Dorset attraction, containing four lakes and a river, is also a beautiful botanic garden which was thoughtfully designed and executed by Monique. It provides the perfect backdrop for Simon’s monumental outdoor sculptures, and some permanent exhibits by other artists, which are all strategically installed around the park.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the work of some familiar names like Phillip Jackson, as well as former SSS members Marie Ackers and Nicola Godden. There is also an indoor space, Gallery by the Lakes, for smaller works and painting.
