working here is part of their J.O.B. and not someone who is
merely passing time to collect a paycheck! When the
employee feels valued, they pay it forward by giving value to
our customers, clients and co-workers. Having competent
and happy employees gives us the opportunity to deliver
products and services that always over-deliver. That’s how
our company will succeed in being a leading competitor,
regardless of our size!
The question seems clear; how do I solve the low morale in
our workplace so others will look forward to their own
J.O.B.?
I’m going to start with the vending machines. I’ll offer
healthy, natural snacks and eliminate the coffee, sugar and
caffeine. We’ll also put in a gym and offer yoga, a workout
room and a place to meditate. We have a spare building in
the back that can be used to set up a daycare so that the
parents won’t be stressed out about getting out of here to
pick up or drop off their children. We will also make sure
that when someone is off the clock, they truly remain off
the clock because self-care is the key to a fresh mind and the
ability to stay focused on the job.
Going forward, we will also require every employee to
create a vision board showing who they are, what they love
to do, and what’s on their bucket list. This will be a great
way for co-workers to get to know each other on a personal
level. Who knows, we might actually start a movement
where co-workers will start giving each other ideas about
how they can fulfill their dreams and goals outside of work
as well as within the company. When word gets out, every-
one will want to work for us but we’ll only hire the people
who can show us that being part of this company is also part
of their J.O.B.
Oops, there goes my alarm, now what was I dreaming
about? Oh yeah, boosting morale at work. I guess if it’s
going to be, it’s up to me! Now if that doesn’t make me want
to jump out of bed, nothing does. What a great way to start
my day; with something worthwhile to accomplish and a

problem to solve. In fact, it’s not really a problem, it’s more
like a puzzle.
No, wait, it’s more than a puzzle, it’s an ENIGMA!
