‘ A positive mindset is a gamechanger.”

I

F YOU HAVE KIDS THAT DO SPORT you’ ll understand it when I say- there is nothing worse than when they a) don’ t get into their preferred team, b) lose a game or c) don’ t make a trial. Their confidence plummets and their anxiety levels soar.
For parents, it can also be a very difficult
time as they don’ t always know how to handle these situations; dealing with their own disappointment is hard enough, let alone their child’ s. This is where I can help. I mentor and coach parents of up-and-coming sports stars by guiding and supporting them through the challenging times. With my coaching, parents are able to support their child in achieving their goals, both on and off the sporting field.

The key is to build your child’ s confidence so they can face trials and competitions with ease and handle the knock-backs with grace. If they can’ t achieve this, their performance will suffer and it could lead to issues such as low self-esteem and anxiety.

Having a child who does sport can be very demanding; you’ re constantly ferrying them from a-to-b, and life becomes an exhausting juggling act. If your child progresses to elite level, things go up a notch.
Finding time to fit in schooling, homework and friends, on top of all the training, is no easy feat- it can put a lot of pressure on families. I give parents specific strategies and tools to manage their time in the most efficient way possible. A balanced lifestyle is of utmost importance for children.
I’ m your average soccer mum of three boys, aged eleven to thirteen, who all compete at an elite level in their respective sports. Two of my boys play soccer and one does martial arts. I live and breathe sport; every day involves some form of training or competing. Life has been pretty full-on for me but over the years, I have learnt what works and what
