SAVING THE VILLAGE

A knock was at the door. Johnny was absolutely petrified as his heart fell down to his feet. He was dumbfounded, what if it was an intruder at the door? He waited for a brief moment before opening the door. An even louder thunderous knock was at the door. Johnny was now frightened to death. He darted away as fast as he could to hide under his bed.

A few knocks later, the door was flattened. The avalanche blew in the orphanage with the shaggy giant standing frozen. He was just as scared as little Johnny was. Johnny peeked out of his hiding spot. The mammoth was weeping! As good-natured and warm-hearted as Johnny was, he slowly approached the giant. He picked up his tiny thin blanket and wrapped it around the giant’s hand. There was no way that thing was fitting around his entire body.

The giant asked Johnny a question. He wanted him to help relax and calm his wrestling partner at the caves of the mountain. Johnny would do anything to get out the ramshackle that he lived in. So they took off.

Little Johnny hopped on to the giant’s back and held on for dear life. There was no way that a human could get out of their house. Snow was taller than some houses, doors were packed shut and windows were impossible to pry open. The giant stomped up the slopes to the caves. Johnny was upset and hurt by the turmoil that the other giant caused the village. He was set out on his own adventure to save his town.

When they got to the top of the mountain, little Johnny spoke his mind to the giant that caused the ruckus. He was not leaving until the giant agreed to repair and restore the village. The giant just laughed at little Johnny. He wasn’t going to let a young boy dictate him. But that’s when the other giant stepped in. He knew the avalanche was unnecessary to the low-income village. They didn’t have snowplows or snow blowers to plow themselves out. They had to do it by hand. The giant felt sorrowful and concerned for the village. He agreed to unblock the roads and clear out every house. He caused the mess, so he had to clean it up. It took the giant a couple days to successfully and completely clear every snowflake out of the village. His lesson was learned and he retired from wrestling the giant. Johnny’s parents couldn’t be more proud of their son in heaven for what he did for his village.
