For more than 45 years both students and teachers participated in UNESCO projects, trainings, workshops and UNESCO Associated Schools conferences. Language camps were a great opportunity to develop language skills, to learn new things and meet people from various countries. We have also taken up independent projects concerning education , green issues, international communication, promotion of history, customs and traditions, respect and equal rights.
We are not indifferent to ecological matters. Membership in numerous formal national or regional associations is one thing but the most important is action. We take part in exhititions, projects, local happenings, photo contests and knowledge competitions, eco-trips and science camps; cooperate with scientists from Wrocław and Poznań Universities. We plant flowers to attract bees; we also planted trees to commemorate the School’s 100th anniversary; we separate litter – students had workshops with experts on how to segregate properly; we collect paper and sell it to a recycling point; by collecting and selling plastic containers’ caps we support a disabled person’s rehabilitation programme; we participate and support international eco-events and campaigns.
