FLOWER FESTIVAL........... St. Bartholomew's Church, Redmarley, is in much need of funds. We have struggled this year to pay our overheads, and the demands of the Diocese. The tower requires urgent structural work and we must therefore take action to secure monies in order to complete this work. Within the church there are projects we would also like to undertake which would update our facilities and improve the interior. There are grants for which we can apply, but in assessing these it would be necessary for us as a church to show how we are trying to play our part.

In August this year we are planning a Flower Festival with the theme 'ASPECTS OF LOVE'. Through flowers and various artifacts we will explore our love of the 'COUNTRYSIDE,' our 'COMMUNITY,' 'RELATIONSHIPS,'

'MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE.' The love of GOD and his WORD, SPORT, MUSIC and many more areas.

We are at this stage seeking sponsors for the event. An appropriate way may be for an arrangement to be sponsored in memory of a loved one, or of a special event. We would love to hear from anyone who would be willing to help in anyway............it's not just flower arranging. Please contact Anne Jones 650400 or Hilary Morton 6518691 if you would like more details.

A new look at Redmarley Village Hall

We have a new look - well, inside at least. After a few years of saving up, we have had the interior re-decorated, including the main hall which was starting to look very shabby. Light and airy was the intention of the colour scheme and, considering it was designed by a committee, it works really well. And that's not all. We have replaced the old antique green crockery (you can see it in village halls in films from the 1950s and 60s). The new crockery is white and modern. Give the whole thing a try when you're next thinking about a party or a club event.

Incidentally, we are still looking for volunteers to help with various aspects of running the hall. If you're interested, have a look at the Chairman's report to last year's AGM which is on the hall's page on the village website - www.redmarley.org.uk/hall/ - and phone Peter Condon on 01531 650371.

Redmarley Parish Needs You!

To misquote from a well known poster. Help us to bring together the Parish community for a day of fun and excitement. We are planning to hold a SOAP BOX DERBY: an event where entrants from all over the area design, build and race their Soap Box carts down Rock Pitch to see who can get down the hill the fastest.

On the day there will be Ox roasts, fun fair activities, indeed all the fun of a race day. Money generated will be used for the benefit of the Parish and nominated charities.

For an event like this to come about we need careful planning and help, that is where you can play your part. Realistically it is impossible to organise such an event before 2018 BUT planning needs to start now!

If you are interested in finding out more and joining our planning team then please DO come to the Meeting on Thursday 23rd February at Redmarley Village Hall at 7.30pm.
