weeds at the root level, delaying regrowth for approximately 2 to 3 months. This significantly reduces the likelihood of blocked drainage systems caused by weeds and organic debris during heavy rainfall. As a result, eWeeding contributes directly to climate resilience and helps mitigate flood risks in urban environments.
Case 2 – Sidewalks Challenge The use of chemical herbicides is no longer socially acceptable. However, alternative methods have often proven less effective, leading to declining urban aesthetics, neighborhood degradation, and increased opportunities for pests to thrive.
Execution After several years without chemical weed control and relying on less effective alternatives, a transition to eWeeding was made at the start of 2024. Previously, up to 8 treatments per year were required to maintain acceptable conditions. With eWeeding, only 5 treatments were needed in 2024, while reducing labor time by 50 %.
In 2025, performance improved further: only 3 treatments were required to achieve an even higher visual quality. Compared to earlier alternative methods, labor demand decreased by 70 %. For 2026 only 3 treatments are expected with limited labor resources. Photo explanation eWeeding began on March 21, 2024, with a full treatment of all sidewalks. Throughout the year, inspections were conducted and follow-up treatments were applied selectively— only in areas with visible weed presence. By the end of 2024, surfaces were clean going into winter, and this condition was confirmed in March 2025( right image). Almost all weeds had been eradicated, except for a few deep-rooted species( taproot weeds).
In the second year( 2025), weed pressure was significantly lower, allowing for a later start and fewer interventions. By early 2026, conditions remained stable and comparable to early 2025. Only three minor treatments are expected to be required in 2026.
Conclusion The application of eWeeding delivers a long-term improvement in urban visual quality, primarily due to its effective root-level action. It requires significantly less labor than alternative techniques and achieves more durable results.
eWeeding is fully electric and eliminates the use of fossil fuels and chemicals, it represents one of the most sustainable weed control solutions available today. It not only improves operational efficiency but also contributes to cleaner, quieter, and more climate-resilient public spaces. www. eweeding. com
