river.
Materials were selected for their ability to
perform well in a marine environment: stainless
steel, blue-grey York stone paving to harmonize
with the local limestone rubble walls and gravel;
teak decking and cedar screen fencing.
The house stands on reclaimed land that was
in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries a
shipbuilding yard.
