WELCOME FROM CHAMBER CHAIR

When I was a kid, my dad used to drive across our small town in northern Michigan to buy gas. He drove past a number of gas stations on his way, which I did not understand, because I was a kid. Why didn’ t we just buy gas at that station, or that one, or this one right here? As I got older, I stopped asking those questions. I learned that the trips to the gas station across town had a purpose. We knew Ken and Debbie, the owners. They went to our church. Their son was my friend. And my dad thought it was important to be loyal to them, even when their gas cost a few cents more per gallon.
We all develop loyalties in life, to our favorite stores, restaurants, mechanics, coffee shops, even gas stations. As you develop your loyalties, I hope you will use this guide as a starting point.
My wife and I spend lots of time here. All of our kids attended East Lake Elementary( two are still there). My wife and I recently sought out a restaurant for date night just because it is in Lakeville( and is a chamber member). I’ m proud to own a business that has grown with this community for nearly 40 years. And while my work takes me all over the state( and sometimes the country), this is home.
This guide makes it possible( even easy) to build connections in the community you call home. The people, businesses and organizations listed in this guide care about making Lakeville a great place to live and work. Whether your business or organization appears in this guide or you are a resident using the guide as a resource, we hope that when you have a choice, you choose to partner with your friends and neighbors through the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce.
On behalf of the Chamber, I look forward to serving you and your businesses in 2025!
