Who Am I?
W
ho am I? If you are like
most ladies, you have
struggled with this
question. Or how about this one? Am
I a person of worth?
Imagine someone looking you
straight in the eye and asking: “Do
you consider yourself a person of
worth?” What would be your answer?
If you belong to Jesus, you are part
of the ultimate royal family. You have
been adopted by the King who rules
over every kingdom in Heaven and
earth! When you were held hostage
by sin with no hope of escape, Jesus
paid a huge ransom for you. Why?
Because He loves you very much.
For a Christian, rating self-esteem
is a twisted concept. Our esteem (our
worth) is not in self at all. It is in God
and His love for us. If Jesus esteemed
(valued, approved, or prized) our
worth as the price He paid for us—
brutal beatings, false accusations,
betrayal, crucifixion, His own life—
then we can know without a doubt
we are of enormous value to God.
Not only are we of great value to
God, Colossians 2:10 says we are
complete in Him. Everyone has some
