LAC STE. ANNE COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SERVICES Cultivating a strong and sustainable future. Lac Ste. Anne County’s Agricultural Services division provides information, expertise and equipment to assist residents with a wide range of agriculture, horticulture and conservation needs. In- house specialists are on hand to assist with crop disease and weed management issues, and knowledgeable staff members are always happy to answer any horticulture- related queries. RURAL BEAUTIFICATION CONTEST SEEKING NOMINATIONS This year marks the County’s 12th annual Rural Beautification Contest, and nominations are being sought for farms, homes and acreages that exemplify horticultural excellence! Residents are invited to nominate eligible properties of friends, family and neighbours. Homeowners are also welcome to nominate their own yards. As always, three categories are available: Acreage (10 acres and smaller); Small Holding (11-79 acres); and Farm (80+ acres). Nomination forms are available for download at LSAC.ca/Rural-Beautification or can be picked up at the County Administration office. Save the date and join us on the Rural Beautification Tour when contest winners are announced, August 1, 2019. WEST-CENTRAL FORAGE ASSOCIATION Lac Ste. Anne County has renewed its partnership with West-Central Forage Association (WCFA). This group hosts a multitude of extension events; provides sites for applied research; and offers the latest information on feeding, forages and livestock handling. The County provides annual funding to help sustain the operation of this organization. Many members are themselves County residents. To learn more, visit WestCentralForage.com. AG RENTAL EQUIPMENT From sprayers and tree planters to mulch applicators and more, the Agricultural Services department provides well-maintained rental equipment to assist area landowners with a wide range of seasonal needs.
