Data centre We have a hybrid IT solution , using both private and public cloud services . This allows us to get the best of both worlds . In 2022 , we outsourced the hosting of our servers to a PaaS / IaaS cloud provider , which is ISAE 3402 certified and has IT specialists with the right training and certifications to run server hardware 24 hours a day . Our systems run on dedicated servers in a closed system , providing a high level of IT security . Read more about our work with cloud solutions and IT security on page 56 .
By outsourcing parts of our server setup to an external provider , we have also achieved carbon emission savings of almost 19 tonnes , equal to 85 % of our total server emissions before the outsourcing .

Electronic waste We typically dispose of our IT equipment at the end of its life , when higher industry standards for IT security and software require greater performance . We are conscious that electronic waste is the world ' s fastest growing waste stream , and our employees only have a laptop and a phone . We use a certified supplier to help us dispose of old IT equipment or give it a new life in places where people cannot afford new equipment or second-hand equipment but where demand for technology is high and IT security standards lower . In this way , we ensure that the amount of electronic waste is minimised .
