Knights heartache in Grand Final
After winning the Minor Premiership the club went into their third Grand Final looking to
break their losing streak.Despite a first half hat trick from center Thomas Farrell the Knights
lost their third Grand Final in row at RSRC. In what was always going to a close affair the
Knights held a four point lead going into the final five minutes .Pressure from the Pitbulls saw
the team spill the ball to give the home side a last gasp chance to snatch the trophy from
their grasp and Kiwi center Joe Collins crashed over under the post's to level the score at 24
points each. The conversion meant that the Pitbulls won the game 26-24 and retained their
National Champions title.
Despite the loss the club are building both on and off the field and are hoping that in 2018
they can finally get their hands on the Major Premiership.
Despite running in a first half hat trick of tries
Knights Irish center Thomas Farrell picked
up his third runners up medal in as many
years. Some consolation for Thomas was his
16 tries made him the top try scorer in the
2017 competition.
Heading to the RL World Cup.
