Celebrating Sporting Excellence
King’ s College and the New Zealand Olympic Committee jointly hosted a night to‘ Celebrate Sporting Excellence’ on Thursday 14 March at The Cloud Queen’ s Wharf.
Over 300 guests representing the King’ s College community were joined by current and past New Zealand Olympians including; Lauren Boyle, Sam Webster, Alison Shanks, Blair Tuke, Simon van Velthoven and Rebecca Scown all of whom were interviewed by Sky Television presenter Stephen McIvor and were later auctioned off as part of the live auction.
Both the online auction and live auctions raised close to $ 50,000 on the night with the proceeds being distributed between the New Zealand Olympic Committee and a new King’ s College Trust Fund for fostering sporting excellence by way of coaching, mentoring and equipment.
