| FROM THE COMMISSIONER | Streamlining Staffing, division changes aimed at streamlining services for agents and consumers KEN SELZER Kansas Insurance Commissioner D uring my first six months as Kansas Insurance Commissioner, I have met many KAIA members at my speaking engagements. We at the Kansas Insurance Department have also worked closely with KAIA staff on legislative and regulatory issues, and I value the input we have received from all of you. Also, so far during my tenure, we have undertaken changes in the department’s leadership and division structures. Retirements and changes over the past eight months necessitated staff members stepping into interim director roles. It also meant some re-evaluation on how KID can function better to serve agents, companies and consumers. As of June 1 we eliminated the interim titles from those who have been directing the different divisions, and we made some changes in division structure as well. new directors named Moving into directors’ positions at KID (and their divisions) are: John Wine, Assistant Commissioner; Clark Shultz, Government & Public Affairs; Randy Adair, Antifraud; LeAnn Crow, Consumer Assistance; Charlotte Humburg, Comptroller; Julie Holmes, Health and Life (formerly Accident and Health); Linda Scott, IT; Diane Minear, General Counsel; Jason Lapham, Licensing and Market Regulation (formerly Producers and Market Conduct); and Heather Steinkamp, Property and Casualty.
