Wcommitted suicide after failing to qualify the exams . Farhat ' s was not just an isolated case . Like him , eight more boys and girls tried to end their life after results were out - thus hinting how the cut throat competition has increased the stress among the valley ' s children .
Farhat , a resident of Padgampora village in south Kashmir , consumed poison after failing to qualify the exams . She was immediately rushed to hospital and shifted to Srinagar . At Shri Maharaja Hari Singh ( SMHS ) hospital in Srinagar , doctors declared her brought dead . But many others were lucky to be saved by the timely intervention of the doctors .
" It seems that she apparently took this extreme step because she failed to qualify her exams ," a police official associated with the case said . " Of and on , there are such cases from different parts of valley where student attempt suicide after falling to show good performance in the exams ".
