insurance . Dale received his CIC designation in 1986 and his Accredited Advisor of Insurance designation . He was a strong advocate of volunteering in his community and was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Rotary International .
• Glenn E . Charlton – Glenn was president of the association for two terms , 1924 and 1925 . He was from Lawrence , manager of the Charlton Insurance Agency . The business was founded in 1861 . He is noted in the KAIA archives as having attended the 1905 NAIA Convention in St Louis . The minutes of meetings during his terms in office reveal the high degree of his leadership . He also served on the executive committee in 1927 . In 1936 , he stated that his firm had obtained three quarters century of insurance agency service . Perhaps the most significant result of this accumulation of experience is the full recognition of the needs of the local agent and the kind of general agency service which fully supplements and in no way conflicts with service and facilities of the agent himself . Glen died on April 24 , 1947 .
• Robert S . Charlton – Robert was president of the association in 1954 . Robert was president of the Charlton Insurance Agency in Lawrence . His family had been in the insurance business since 1861 . He was a graduate of the University of Kansas and served in the Air Force during the war . His father , Glenn E . Charlton was president of the association in 1924 and 1925 . Robert stated in his president ’ s report at the convention : “ We are a proud group of intelligent and responsible people in our respective communities . We have much to be proud of in this service profession we love . “
• M . R . ( Ron ) Coryell , Jr . – Ron was president of the association in 1979 . Ron was vice president of Coryell Insurors . He was the third generation in the insurance business that was started by his grandfather in 1913 . His father , Bud , joined the business in 1927 . Ron joined the business after graduating from Kansas State University and being in the US Marine Corps . He received the Distinguished Service Award from Junction City Chamber of Commerce in 1964 . In 1979 , Insurance Commissioner Fletcher Bell appointed Ron to the Governing Board of the Assigned Risk Plan . In 2002 , he received the President ’ s Citation Award from President Sandy Broadstreet .
• Walter M . Crawford – Walt was president of the association in 1973 . He was from Larned and was a partner in the Crawford-McDonald Agency . He attended Kansas State University prior to entering the Air Force in WW II . He rose to the rank of Captain and flew B-24 and B-29 around the European Theatre . He returned to Kansas and attended the Wichita Business College and entered the insurance business in 1945 . Walt was a member of the Masonic Lodge , Shrine , Elks , American Legion and VFW . He also served as Mayor of Larned .
• R . P . Cravens – R . P . was a pioneer agent of Salina and the state of Kansas . He was an active professional insurance agent since 1877 . He was both active and influential in forming the Kansas Insurance Federation , the organization functioning on behalf of local agents prior to the founding of the present Kansas association in December 1920 . The Kansas Insurance Federation was founded around 1915 . He was elected president of the Kansas Insurance Federation in 1917 and served three terms . The last meeting of the organization was in November 1920 . R . P . was given an Honorary Life membership in September 1941 , for his many years of insuring the public and his diligent work to the insurance industry . R . P . was a charter member of the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents , and served as the first vice president of the association in 1921 .
• Lyle Davidson – Lyle was president of the association in 2017 . He is owner and president of the Davidson Agency in Delphos . The Davidson Agency was a family business founded in 1982 . Lyle started working there with his father in 1999 , and later that year he purchased it from him . He has increased the business nearly 12 times its original size and has added offices in Bennington , Glasco , and Minneapolis . The agency
