CHAPTER TWO
ACTIVITIES THAT I HAVE CARRIED OUT AND MY OBSERVATIONS
IN SOUTH WOLLO ZONE HIGH COURT CIVIL DIVISIONS
SECTION ONE; CASE BRIEF
The first task I have carried out in south wollo zone high court civil division is
investigating appellate and direct cases and brief them to the judges. During my
stay in the division totally I have investigated 15 appellate civil cases, 5 direct
cases and brief those cases to the judges. In addition to this I have put forwarded
my point of view in that particular case and also I have received feedbacks from
the judges.
SECTION TWO: JUDGMENT WRITING
The other task that I have carried out in the civil bench is writing a court order,
decree and judgment. 8 In fact writing court order, decree and judgment was a little
difficult for me because we have not taken the course called ‘judgment writing’ but
I have employed my knowledge that I have grasped during reading dead and
pending files.
SECTION THREE; OBSERVING DIFFERENT COURT PRACTICES
As I have done in criminal bench I observed different court practices in south
wollo zone high court civil division. In particular I observed how the parties filed
their pleading, present their witnesses to the court how they held oral
