Championship Horse Show: James Duenow
The showbill has been posted in the spotlight along with sponsorship and vendor forms. The committee continues to look for sponsorships and asks all board members to pursue interest in sponsors. James is planning a trip up to the fairgrounds to check out changes made to the coliseum, and see what changes have been made that may affect space and / or IT. James has appointed Dustin Heck as his Vice-Chair.
Computer: Jake Flodquist
Absent. Jake has been working through online membership website questions and addressing an error message that pops up when updating club officers.
Drills and Squares: Marlys Mooney
Absent. Vice-Chair Mandy reported that the Flying E’ s and Wright Saddle Club are on board to perform at MN State Fair.
Futurity: Kim Ziegler Absent. Nothing to report.
Historian: Tim Wampfler Nothing to report.
Judges: Lynn-Ellen St. Martin
Lynn-Ellen shared that the Judges Seminar went well with approximately 20 in attendance. The seminar started with live judging in the morning with clinician Rebecca Halverson, which included Ranch & Pleasure demo horses. Ranch topics were also covered in the afternoon session. There were 2 applicants that interviewed and tested, that will be reviewed by the board during a closed meeting. The committee is planning to have the 2027 Judges Seminar again at the same location, Leatherdale Equine Center. The committee is now working on judging schedules for the 2026 Champ Show.
Marketing & Promotions: Rachel Duenow
The April Spotlight has been sent out. Rachel is working on getting WSCA deadlines posted On Deck, Champ Show information material, and upcoming Facebook posts.
Nominating: Ann Goebel
Ann reminded everyone that there will be 4 terms to fill this year. So far, the committee has 1 potential external applicant, and a couple possible re-elections.
Procedures: Sara Schwartz
Sara is thoroughly updating all procedures to be made electronic and hopes to have them done soon. It was brought to attention that the Rulebook procedure still states previous Chairperson’ s contact information.
A motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Lori Taylor, to update the procedure to reflect current committee information.
Publicity: Lori Taylor
Lori shared that the 2025-2026 court is busing planning for upcoming events, which include the Royalty Clinic, MN Horse Expo, possible summer parades and the WSCA Royalty fundraiser show.
Royalty: Bridget Behrns
Absent. The 2026 Royalty Clinic will be April 12 th, in Otsego, MN, and Bridget asks that board and committee members help share the Royalty award flier with their club members.
