The squad was strengthened with the additions of youngsters Stephanie Kassam and Laurena Pilcher. Also, Megan Martinez returned from a year of teaching in the UK to add much needed artillery in the shooting department given the loss of Player of the Season, Jamie-Lee Prescott who went the other direction to start her PGCE year.

It was a delayed start to the league, which commenced on the 7th of November with Bavaria coming up against one of the divisions most highly-rated sides, Marble Arc. It was a baptism of fire that ended in a 46-21 defeat against a fitter and more experienced team. However, the reaction came a week later with the Pinks getting their maiden win in the First Division against a familiar foe in Soho Magic. The young team performing outstandingly over the entirety of the season. The game was won on the buzzer with Megan Martinez’s last second attempt giving us the narrowest of wins, 35-34.

The good form continued into the new year with a massive 34-9 win against Capurro, followed by a colossal 71-22 victory vs Belles giving the Pinks an impressive 5 wins on the bounce. The first round drew to a close against Elite GJBS, a squad littered with international experience. The Pinks put in a tremendous effort, losing out marginally 34-35 in a game that was a great advert for local netball. The performance showed how far the team had come over the space of a few months since the start of the league. This game marked the end of the first round of fixtures with the league splitting into the top 4 made up of Bavaria, Soho Magic, Elite GJBS and Marble Arc.
