BiggDoggs (DSC)
Bigg Dogg family,
F
irst of all I want to thank
you all for your continued
support to the Bigg Doggs.
We here in Bagram are grateful
for all of the Care packages,
Cards and letters that you are
providing to keep our spirits up as
we continue the fight. On a daily
basis, I witness the results of the
heartfelt gratitude and motivation
that our Soldiers receive from you
back Home. It is both welcome
and well received by all here.
Please continue to show your
appreciation and support to our
wonderful soldiers. They are truly
the Tip of the Spear in providing
support to the Command.
We have had a few bits of
excitement to take place since our
last installment of the Gauntlet
Gazette. So, I will take a moment
to review them with you.
There have been several re
enlistments, and I would like for
you to join me in Congratulating
them all. SPC Coon, SSG Lawson, SPC Hicks, SPC Allendale,
SSG Harper, and SPC Jones, all
were eligible and authorized by
the Commander to re enlist. As
the Army draws down after 14
years of war, it is becoming increasingly harder to re enlist. The
Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion Page 33
Command is charged with retaining the best Soldiers for the future
of our Army, and these individuals
have demonstrated that they have
the “Right Stuff” to continue to
serve. So, to all of our Bigg Dogg
re enlistee’s, Congratulations.
There was another great
accomplishment as SPC Polle was
promoted to SGT by meeting the
promotion point’s requirement for
the 25Q MOS. This is absolutely
NOT an easy requirement as the
points tend to fluctuate regularly.
Congratulations SGT Polle!!!
By being recognized as
the Top PFC in the Company, PFC
Connor was selected and Promoted (with waiver) to SPC. What
this means is that SPC Connor
competed against his peers for the
one waiver allowed the Company.
He was judge on his Warrior skills,
Technical ability, drive and motivation, and the ability to perform as a
leader while working in the CJ6
NetOps as a Network Interrogator.
SPC Connor was essentially promoted early because of his excellence as a soldier, and now serves
as an inspiration to the others Soldiers in the Company
Very soon we will be
transitioning to a new Command
team. The Commander, Executive officer and I are all scheduled to be replaced in the next
month or so. I would like to say
that it has been my absolute
pleasure to serve you. This has
been a tireless job and you all
have made it more that rewarding. I appreciate all the support
that you have shown to this
Command team, and urge you
to get behind whomever replaces me and give them as
much of you as you have me.
