IF YOU DO IT , START SLOWLY AND ENJOY IT 2
That doesn ’ t mean you shouldn ’ t exercise , if that ’ s what you want to do . But recognizing that it ’ s optional and not necessary for your weight loss success , frees you to do what you like to do for exercise . You don ’ t have to join a gym or do that 60 minute Boot Camp class if you don ’ t truly want to . Instead , if you like , you can take a 10 or 15 minute walk in the evening at dusk . Or do some gentle stretching in your living room in the morning . Maybe some light weight lifting . Or choose a swim class . Or boxing . Or skating . Or nothing at all . Now you can focus on what movement makes you feel good and not just what burns the most calories .
Many people find that making exercise pleasant and increasing time or intensity when you feel ready , is the key to moving into an active lifestyle . In short : if you like it , you ’ ll keep doing it . If you hate it , you ’ re likely to quit . So make whatever you do something that you are enjoying .
